Gladys HoneyWings arrives today!

Friday, September 23, 2016

I’m just gonna say this: I wish that the Humans Who Think They Can Predict the Seasons would do a better job of figuring out when one ends, and the next one beegins.

Remember how I mentioned that yesterday was the First Day of the new Cool Season? Evidently, somebody got it completely wrong, beecause after I sorted through all my Seasonal Outfits, and put on my Wooly-Warm Fleece Jersey and Matching Insulated Strolling Togs (I wanted to bee warm while Kevin and I cleaned the Boot Box beefore our Visitor gets here). Lemme tell ya’: it wasn’t Cool AT ALL yesterday. In fact, if you ask me, it was hotter than the day beefore yesterday, when it was still the Hot Season.

Geeeeeeeeze. I just about melted.

So, during one of our hourly 50-minute breaks (it’s important to pace yourself when you’re doing a bunch of cleaning), I went to the Hive Library and looked up the word, “Cool”. It said, and I quote: “COOL, adj, 1. fairly cold, not hot; 2. having the characteristics of beeing calm when confronted by chaos; 3. possessing a sense of High Fashion…”. Of course, I wanna know how anybody could be Cool if it’s not Cool. Yeah, well, yesterday, it was not fairly cold at all. It was exactly hot. After I found this out, I went back to the Boot Box and told Kevin, “You need to know that this just isn’t Cool.”

He said, “Yeah, tell me about it, uncle. Great Grandma Gee Gee made me clean all the Honey Jars in her kitchen and stack them in alphabetical order. I filed them all under ‘H’. I could’ve been out, trying to find a new job…but no. I had to stay in and do that. And you’re right: it just wasn’t cool. At all.”

I told him I thought I would’ve felt a lot more comfortable if I wouldn’t have worn anything at all while he & I were cleaning, but Kevin just said, “Don’t go there.” So I didn’t.

At least the Boot Box is completely and totally Sparkling Clean, probably.

Of course, the big news is that Great Grandma Gee Gee’s Third Cousin Twice Removed, Gladys HoneyWings, arrives today!

Gee Gee just now gave me a plate of her Royal HoneyChew Krisp Cookies, and told me to wait by the door until she gets here. She gave me a photo of her Cousin so I could recognise her and give her a huge welcome when she gets here. As if I wouldn’t say “Hi, welcome, and please wipe your feet, and if you feel too Hot, feel free to not wear anything while you’re here” when an unfamiliar Relative comes to visit. I have highly excellent social skills, ya’ know.

I hafta say, she looks really friendly in the picture, which is always a good thing. I just hope she doesn’t snore.

Anyway, I’ve been informed that we are all gonna show Gladys around when she gets here. That will bee great fun, especially if we can all go out to Lunch somewhere cool after she arrives.

Hang on… I just spotted something moving around just outside the window. … Yeah, she’s here. That’s Gladys…and apparently, she wants me to give her a Big Hug.

So I’m gonna go do that.

I hope everybody has an exquisitely amusing weekend!

I’ll see ya’ on Monday!

It's Finally here!!!!

It’s HERE! The new Cool Season has arrived!!!!

GeorgieFBCover_CoolSeason

I was just now kinda going through all my warm sweaters, mittens, and Antennae Cozies, trying to pick just the right outfit to wear today. It might have been kinda hot yesterday, but now that the Cool Season is here, I have absolutely no doubt whatsoever that it’s gonna bee chilly today, probably.

So today, Kevin and I are gonna do like Great Grandma Gee Gee asked: we’re gonna clean up the Boot Box. Her Third Cousin Twice Removed, Gladys Honeywings, will bee here tomorrow, so we hafta bee ready.

And after THAT, I’m gonna zip over to the Hive Workshop and spend the rest of the day helping Junior and Harrizzz build a Coffin. I hope they let me put in the Cup Holders.

Okay then! I hope everybody has a ridiculously problem-free day!

I’ll see ya’ later!

It's HERE - the Last Day of the Hot Season has arrived!

Wednesday, September 21, 2016

Well, this is it. It’s almost over, done, and finished. Today is the last day of the Hot Season.

Of course, that means that, after today, everybody can put away our Hot Weather Attire, and starting tomorrow, beegin wearing our Cool Season Warm & Snugglies. And isn’t that exciting?

In honour of this beeing the last day of the Hot Season, I’ve decided to spend the entire day just relaxing and enjoying some time in the shade. After today, all the leaves on the trees will magically disappear (as they do every year), and shade will bee harder to find. Probably.

Oh, beefore I go… Great Grandma Gee Gee just informed me that a Relative of hers is coming to visit for awhile. She’ll bee here on Friday.

“My heavens,” she said, “I haven’t seen her in such a long time. “

“Who?” I asked.

“My Third Cousin Twice Removed, Gladys, dear,” she said.

“Gladys? You have a cousin named Gladys?” I was just asking.

“Yes, dear. We call her Gladys, but her real name is Gladiolus Honeywings, of the Illinois Honeywings. The last I heard, she lives just outside of Chicago and shares an apartment with her Sister, Petunia - or, as we call her, Patty,” she told me.

“I see,” I said.

“So beefore she gets here, would you and Kevin please clean the Boot Box so that Gladys doesn’t think we live in a slum, dear? Things are looking a bit disorganised around here.”

Kevin just looked at me and rolled his eyes, but we both said, “Sure.” So we’re gonna do that tomorrow, probably.

But now, I’m gonna go out and find my Favourite Spot to relax and enjoy the last day of the Hot Season.

I hope everybody has a miraculously sublime day!

I’ll see ya’ later!

Rudy introduces Georgie to Junior & Harrizzz, the Hive's Coffin-Builders...

Tuesday, September 20, 2016

Ya’ know what I just found out? No? GET THIS:

Ya’ know how I kept thinking Queen Bee was talking about the “Coughin’ Races” the Humans in Manitou who all have those Terrible Colds are having? Did you know that she wasn’t saying “Coughin’”. She was saying COFFIN. You know, like an actual Coffin…the kind Humans use to deal with themselves after they’ve decided they’ve watched enough re-runs, or are simply sick and tired of eating Left-Overs, and decide to leave, permanently. (Hey, it happens.)

So they’re racing COFFINS. I’m not kidding here.

I immediately went over to the Hive to speak to Rudy about this development, and he told me, “Of courth! The Humanth have been doing that for yearth!”

Well, excuse me, but this is the first I heard of it.

And then he told me that the Hive is ALSO building a Coffin to bee in the Big Race, and introduced me to the two bees who are Project Supervisors for this whole thing, Harrizzz, and his Remarkable Assistant, Junior.

Junior-and-Harizzz

“They have a Vision for thith Coffin, and plan to build one for the Hive that will WIN THITH THING!”

After we were introduced, Junior said, “It’s very nice to meet you, Mr. Bee. How are you? I hope you’re having a great day!” (Junior’s very polite.)

Then Harrizzz said, “We could use your help with this, Bud,” to which I said, “Bee. My name is Bee. My help?”

“Yeah, your help, Bee. Lester’s helping, so are a bunch of others in the Hive, so there’s no excuse for you to just let everybody else do all the work on this thing while you just sit around, ya’ know. If this Project is going to end up beeing as Beeautimous as it needs to bee, we’re gonna need help - and lots of it.”

Whatever. I told them that maybee I’d help out, but it would hafta depend on my Rehearsal Schedule, and whether or not they planned to do it at the same time that Talula Beehead Retrospective is gonna bee on the Bee Network pretty soon (I think that starts airing around 3:27 a.m., MSDT, and runs for the next week, hopefully.) I simply can’t miss that, so I told Harrizzz I’d let him know, probably.

In the meantime, I need to go do laundry (I’m out of socks.)

I hope everybody has an immensely curiosity-satisfying day!

I’ll see ya’ later!

It's Monday...

Monday, September 19, 2016

Do you have any idea what today is? I’ll tell you: today is the LAST Monday of the Hot Season. I’m sure it’s gonna bee a Special Day. Geeeeeze, I wish I would’ve known it was coming so that I could have prepared to enjoy it more than I’m sure I already will.

So, ya’ know how sometimes ya’ just wanna get away from everything, find yourself a nice, quiet place with nobody around, and just hang out and relax? Well, yesterday, that’s exactly what I decided to do. Or tried to.

It was such a beeeeeautiful day yesterday, that, after I put some extra Mouth Part Balm on, I flew up to the Way, Way, Far Away, Ridiculously High Meadow to enjoy a little peace and quiet, and bask in the scenery up there (you know: scenery - not like the Stage Scenery Rudy builds and has stored somewhere in the Hive’s All-Day-All-Night Storage Centre - the other kind).

After I got there, I was sitting there on a tree branch and enjoying having nobody else around (except for maybee a stray bee or two who I don’t know who they were), and guess who decides to come stomping along and invading my Private Time and Space? I’ll just tell you: it was my Human BeeP Friend, Rex. Evidently, he got it into his head to visit the EXACT same place (and tree) where I was. And what are the odds of THAT happening? (In case you’ve never been to Colorado, there are dozens and dozens of OTHER trees and places he could’ve picked to visit. But no. He picked MY tree.)

Geeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeze. Ya’ try to get away from the World, and what happens? It follows you. It’s just not fair.

So today, I plan to pay Rex a little visit, and have a long and serious talk about more carefully coordinating any future Get Away Plans so that this never happens again.

So I’m gonna go do that. (I wonder if he’s awake yet.)

I’m hope everybody has an amazingly superlative day!

I’ll see ya’ later!
