It’s Monday, the First Monday of my 41st year! Aren’t you excited? I knew you would bee.
You know what else is exciting? Remember, last week, when I told you that nobody in the Hive was gonna help me celebrate my 40th Birthday? As it turns out, I was highly mistaken.
I don’t know how they pulled it off, since nobody ever gave ANY hints about the whole thing, but it turns out that the Hive threw me a Giant-Sized Surprise Happy Birthday Extravaganza in the Far Meadow! So far, it’s the best party of the year. EVERYBODY was there and it was amazing!
Somehow, they built a whole Stage in the middle of the Far Meadow without my noticing, and put together a Live Musical Biography of my Life and Times - which I found to bee highly interesting, even though I’m pretty sure I never had any kids (somebody in the Cast thought I did at some point, but whatever), and I wasn’t born in a log cabin. (I dunno who came up with that one.)
Ultra Violet, along with her Back-Up Troupe, Flutter & Slam, sang me Happy Birthday (everybody joined in, even though the key of Bee Flat was difficult for some people’s voices to hit the high notes).
The whole thing was supposed to bee recorded, but in all the excitement, nobody remembered to hit the “ON” button on the camera. I guess just remembering will hafta do.
Also, with the help of Max Bee, Bert, my Illegitimate Nephew, Kevin, Great Grandma Gee Gee, and a Crew of about 2,000 bees, they had baked and assembled the World’s Probably Tallest Birthday Honey Cake which was decorated with 40 Festive Beeswax Candles. (I tried to blow them all out when it was time for me to make a wish; unfortunately, I could only manage enough Blowing Power to deal with the first 27 nearest the bottom…the other ones kept burning and ended up charring the top, three layers of the Cake. It was a real mess, but still highly delicious.)
And I was feeling so hurt beecause I thought everybody had forgotten my Birthday. Silly me.
So I’m gonna spend the day today opening the rest of my Birthday Presents. So far, I’ve gotten 18,941 pairs of socks, 3,252 cases of Bendy Straws, and a tie. (I don’t wear ties, ya’ know.)
Okay then. I hope everybody has an ecstatically fun day!
